The Annual Lakewood Run: Saturday, March 7, 2020

The annual Lakewood Run is right around the corner – it’s scheduled for March 7, rain or shine. While early registration is closed, you can still get in on the action for the 5K or 10K course, or for the 1K Fun Run or a 5K walk. Here’s what you need to know about this extremely-anticipated yearly event.

The Annual Lakewood Run: Saturday, March 7, 2020

This year, the Lakewood Run supports Soroptimist International of Lakewood/Long Beach and the Lakewood Sheriff’s Station’s charity efforts. Registration is $40 per person between now and March 6, but you can still register on race day (the cost is $45 then). The Fun Run pre-registration rate is $20 between now and March 6, and on race day, it’s $25.

Medals go to first-, second- and third-place finishers in each category of the 5K and 10K running events, and all finishers in the 5K/10K will receive finisher medals.

The entire race takes place on Lakewood’s flat, tree-lined streets, and it’s great for recreational runners, families and children. Each run begins at Lakewood Station – the 5K/10K race begins at 8 a.m. and the 1K Fun Run starts at 9:30 a.m. (Registration for both races is at 6:30 a.m.)

What Other Events Take Place on Race Day?

Whether you’re a participant or a spectator, you’ll enjoy a fitness expo, as well as great displays of public safety equipment and programs thanks to the Lakewood Sheriff’s Department. You’ll also be able to catch live entertainment and have a chance to win prizes in special giveaways from local, Lakewood-area businesses.
