If you’re like many people, you understand that Halloween is going to be a bit different this year than it has in years past – but check out this list of events happening in and around Long Beach to help you get into the spooky spirit of the holiday.

While many of the area’s annual Halloween bashes are closed this year due to the pandemic, there are still plenty of great activities for you, your friends and your family to enjoy, including:

Hilarious Halloween in Huntington Beach

Hilarious Halloween is a free event held outdoors. You’ll have the chance to catch a hilarious marionette show by Franklin Haynes Marionettes and make holiday crafts. You must have a ticket to attend, which you can get here.

Halloween Masquerade Carnival Party

Check out the Halloween Masquerade Carnival Party. You can see The Super Stars Jamal Kassab and Muhannad Khalaf perform, along with Deya Elayyan. You can even take in a belly dancing show at this outdoor event, which also offers a full bar. The party starts at 7 p.m. on Halloween night, and it’s at the Golden Rose Restaurant and Lounge in Buena Park. Tickets are between $80 and $100 each, and you can get them here.

Trash or Treat Halloween Beach Cleanup in Redondo Beach

Volunteer your time for Trash or Treat Halloween Beach Cleanup in Redondo Beach. The event starts at 6 p.m. and lasts until 8:30 at Miramar Park. Wear your costume and bring some bags! There’s plenty of free neighborhood parking, and you can register here.

Carnevil in Orange

Check out Carnevil, which is being held at a private estate in Orange that won’t be disclosed until 24 hours before the event. (It’s on October 31 at 7 p.m., so you can expect to hear by the Friday evening before the event.) You’ll see tarot card readers, contortionists, stilt walkers, The Mentalist Twins and more – plus you can enjoy food trucks, VIP tables and bottle service, and more. Tickets are $175 (plus a fee), and you can get them here.

Halloween Walk-Thru at Fairhaven Memorial Park & Mortuary

This free, half-mile event is family friendly and features ten themed “Treat Stations” set up throughout the memorial park. You can visit on Thursday, October 29, 2020 between 3 and 6 p.m. You must register by car prior to attending, and all social distancing protocols must be adhered to – everyone must wear a face mask.
